Data Storage Container Overview

Data Storage Container Overview

A Data Storage Container is a widely used solution for simple data storage and remote control. On the AccuWeb.Cloud platform, it enables multiple environments to access data in a single storage as if it were kept locally.

This setup allows you to share media files, common configurations, or simply store backups and logs with ease.

Data Container

Key Benefits

  1. Data Persistence and Security: The data is secure and safe, running inside fully isolated containers and stored separately during application updates.
  2. Simplified Management: Manage multiple containers with one set of configurations, integrate with Docker volumes, and use a built-in file manager for different types of data storage.
  3. Cost Savings: Shared data reduces disk space consumption, leading to lower costs.

Integration

The integration of the data storage container on the platform is based on the Network File System (NFS) protocol, used for client-server communication. This process involves two main steps:

  1. Data Export: The data is shared from the storage container to another instance.
  2. Directory Mounting: The appropriate directory is mounted on a client container.

To ensure the best experience, a dedicated Shared Storage Container stack is provided. It offers several advantages for data storage compared to other container types, such as pre-installed dependent software and increased allocated disk space. Any node on the platform, including custom Docker containers, can function as a data storage server using volumes functionality.

With the Data Storage Container, you have a variety of options to enhance your project’s filesystem structure, making it more reliable and configurable. For more detailed information on the types of storage available and their best use cases, refer to the documents linked below.
